Tattoo Artist/ Visual Effects Artist
Starting in his art career 1982, Dean Deakyne has been tattooing for almost three decades. Early in his career he was heavily involved in the tattoo circuit which led to a rapid advancement of his skills. He eventually moved to Southern California and opened two tattoo studios (Sick & Twisted Productions and Orange County Ink). Deciding to further advance his art, he left the studios behind to pursue new artistic endeavors in the Visual Effects Industry. He moved out of Orange County up to the movie mecca of the world Hollywood California to pursue his education for 3D Animation and Visual Effects for film and television. He then spent the next three and a half years in a full time education program to hone these new skills. After finishing school Dean got his break and took at job at EntityFX in Santa Monica as a 3D Artist/ Maya Generalist and has been there ever since. After a few years of working on movies and TV Shows Dean was approached by
Art Center College of Design Pasadena to become the first instructor to teach Zbrush and Maya at their facility.
Dean has won numerous international tattoo awards and has been featured in newspapers, television and magazines world-wide, he is also developing educational DVD’s for the tattoo and digital industry so keep an eye out!
